South Florida poker players will soon have a chance to play against Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, the 2010 World Series of Poker Player’s Champion, one of the “November Nine,” and arguably the top poker player in the state. As the first stop on the DeepStacks Poker Tour, the $50,000 Grinder Classic 2 will be the largest guaranteed tournament ever held at Calder’s Studz Poker Club, which opened in October 2009. The tournament has a $550 buy-in, and will feature a custom blind structure created specifically for larger events. “We listened to what the players wanted, and created a custom structure that gives them the best tournament possible,” said Chris Trabue, Director of Poker for Studz Poker Club. “We extended the blind levels, added additional levels in the middle portion, as well as added a dinner break to make this a very solid tournament.” The original Grinder Classic was held in October 2010 and featured a $25,000 guarantee. The single-day tournament drew a field of 284 players with a prize pool of $56,800. The Grinder Classic 2 has two Day 1 sessions - Friday Feb. 11 and Saturday Feb. 12 at noon. Players will then combine to complete the tournament on Sunday Feb. 13 at noon.
