New World Poker Tour® Events Announced for Europe

The World Poker Tour® is pleased to announce the dates for two new televised tournaments in Europe in 2011 – WPT Venice and WPT Vienna – as well as the first WPT National Series Event.

WPT Venice will be televised and globally distributed by the WPT. Taking place at the luxurious Casino de Venezia between 3rd – 8th February 2011, the Main Event buy-in is set at €3000 + €300. The Italian casino is famous for its water views so make sure you don’t pass aces as the gondolas pass by! The €10,000 High Rollers takes place 7th – 9th February 2011.  Don’t miss your chance to become a global TV poker superstar.


Another date for the diary includes the WPT National Series: Paris – the http://www.acfpoker.fr/ EFOP Diamond Championship at Aviation Club de France. The €5,000 Main Event takes place between 9th – 15th February 2011. A €10,000 High Rollers is also scheduled to take place at France’s spiritual home of poker from 14th – 16th February 2011.  WPT National Series: Paris is the first of the newly announced WPT branded event series in Europe, exciting World Poker Tour stops where players do not qualify for Player of The Year Points or a WPT World Championship buy-in.  More WPT National Series events are expected to be announced throughout 2011.

 WPT President Adam Pliska said: “The World Poker Tour is excited to announce these new dates in Europe. We are looking forward to returning to Venice, debuting our WPT National Series and High Rollers event in Paris and taking the Tour to Vienna for the very first time. The future is exciting and these international events give players even more chances to compete on poker’s premiere stage.”

The countdown to the World Poker Tour Marrakech, Main Event presented by http://www.chilipoker.com/ continues apace. The Main Event, overseen by WPT Executive Tour Director Matt Savage, takes place from 27th – 30th November 2010 at the idyllic Casino De Marrakech with the unique and great value package of a €4,250 buy-in + €750 fee also including deluxe accommodation, breakfast and a dinner buffet. Casino de Marrakech has been Morocco’s casino gem since 1952 and together with the Es Saadi Gardens & Resort’s Palace and Five Star Hotel offer players an amazing experience at a fantastic time of year in the famous tourist town.
