Genting Casinos London Poker Manager Simon Tomsett said: “The WPT London Poker Classic, presented by PartyPoker.com, kicks-off the biggest poker month in UK history where across all the major events and games we’re estimating that £100 million will be wagered through the poker tables in the capital. The tournament prize pool of the London Poker Festival events alone is expected to easily exceed £12 million from a calendar of over 100 events. London is the poker capital of the world in September and the place to be if you are a poker player wherever you are from.” The Genting owned Palm Beach Casino alone is hosting the WPT, the PartyPoker.com World Open VI and the English Poker Open in a busy three weeks from August 30th, with the WSOPE and EPT London arriving in town later in the month. The action has already slowly started to get going as every night at 7pm The Palm Beach Casino, Berkeley Street, London, hosts £300 +£30 WPT Shootout Satellites for Main Event seats. The tables are six handed with a cap of 36 players. The prize pool pays out five places with first place winning a seat into the WPT London Poker Classic Main Event. Recent confirmations for the WPT London Poker Classic include two members of the WSOP Main Event November Nine in the form of Matt Jarvis and Filippo Candio. They join the likes of Phil Ivey, Tony G, Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott, Alexander Kravchenko, Erik Seidel, Joe Beevers, Nicholas Levi, Dragan Galic, Tyron Krost, Barry Shulman, James Akenhead and many more. Coverage of the event will be presented by Kara Scott, with the influential commentary team of Mike Sexton and Jesse May combined for the very first time. Jack McClelland is Tournament Director, while Doug Dalton is on hand to run the lively cash games expected at Crockfords.
