Croation Poker Series Announced
Tuesday, 27 July 2010 09:33

Less than a month separates us from the beginning of one of the largest international tournaments ever held in Croatia. In the week from 21st to 28th August 2010, Grand Casino Lav in Split will host the Croatian Poker Series.  The main event has a buyin of € 1,100, as well there will be a variety CPS side tournaments, a variety of cash games and sit and go tournaments for players during the series.

The Croatian Poker Series Main Event is still "The Big One" to win, of course. The structure of the main event allows for lots of play and a healthy prize pool with a buyin of € 1,100.

The players will start with 30,000 chips in most events, while the CPS main event starts with 50,000 chips. The rounds start at 45-minute levels and change to 60 minutes as the tournament progresses.

Together with numerous local names (from the Balkan region), several Poker pro's from Italy, Germany, France, Serbia and Austria have confirmed their arrival to Split. Among these players is Dragan Galic, who after deep fleece at this year's WSOP Main Event arrives to CPS in a good shape and for sure one of the favorites for the title. Dragan has recently signed a sponsorship agreement with PartyPoker, and is also top the list of earnings among Croatian players.

Among local favorites, several other names have been confirmed; such as, Branimir Brunovic - Bicko, Unibet's Poker Ambassador and one of the most successful Croatian tournament players, Denis Kelemen, the man who as captain led the Croatian team at the World Cup in the Bahamas to the phenomenal second place.  And our favorite women, Hana Soljan and Zeljka Pencinger from the Pokerica Ladies Team.
