World Team Poker has announced its inaugural event taking place on May 19, 2010, at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.  World Team Poker is an international team poker league.  Each Team is led by a Team Captain selected by World Team Poker. The Team Captain selects four professional poker players and one alternate to play on the Team.  Teams will compete under the banners of their respective countries.

Featuring some of the greating poker players in the world, including Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Men "The Master" Nguyen, Jeff Lisandro, Eli Elezra among many others, the event will be broadcast live on the internet on May 19, 2010 at worldteampoker.com.  Registration is free, and if you register before May 1, 2010 there is a will a chance to win a Grand Prize free trip for two to Las Vegas including two nights at the Golden Nugget to view the event live.
