Another Bad Beat Jackpot hits at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino
Saturday, 11 February 2012 13:13

The Crown Royal Poker Room at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino produced another Bad Beat Jackpot Friday on a Texas Hold ‘Em table.  The jackpot netted a total of $129,572, and was divided incrementally among six players at the table.  This is one of four of the largest Bad Beat Jackpots to hit in Delaware, all of which hit at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.

doverdownsA Dover, Del., man walked away with a check for $64,786, fifty percent of the Bad Beat Jackpot, for his hand of Aces full of kings.  A man from Manitowic, Wis., received a check for $32,393 for his high hand of quad kings.  The unconventional, top-prize pay out to the player of the second-highest, “losing” hand is what the Bad Beat Jackpot represents.  It is a consolation prize for being beaten when holding an otherwise rare, high hand.  The other lucky four players on the table each received a pay out of $8,098.25, representing the final twenty-five percent of the $129,572 jackpot.

Dover Downs Hotel & Casino holds the distinction of making the four largest Bad Beat Jackpot pay outs in Delaware, having paid more than a half million dollars since the Bad Beat jackpot was approved by the Delaware Lottery in 2010.
