Boeree was unveiled as PokerStars’ latest Team Pro at the launch of the EPT London Festival of Poker on Tuesday, September 28. She was introduced to the media by PokerStars ambassador Daniel Negreanu, who said: “Liv is the whole package. She has a great résumé after winning EPT San Remo, is likeable, well spoken, attractive and hard-working. There is no question she was the top free agent and I’m ecstatic that she is now part of the team.”

When asked what the deal means to her, Liv Boeree said: “It’s what I’ve been working towards for the last five years. When I decided I wanted to become a pro poker player I wanted to become as well-known and successful as I could be. One of my goals was to become a member of Team PokerStars Pro – and now I’ve done it. I’m so honoured to be invited onto such an exclusive team.”

Boeree has barely been out of the headlines in the past year. After her win at EPT San Remo, she attracted a lot of attention from the media, including Woman Poker Player magazine.

That win in Italy catapulted Boeree into the spotlight, but she has been gradually building her profile in the past two years with a string of cashes in big tournaments. Boeree registered her first major cash by winning the European Ladies Championship in 2008 for $42,000. Since then she has racked up nearly $2m in live tournaments, including eight cashes at the World Series of Poker.
