Womens Poker Hour Talks with Dianna Donofrio-Tigratzi and Dr. Alan Schoonmaker about Poker's Black Friday

The recent events of April 15th 2011, known as Black Friday, has had a major impact on the poker industry in the U.S.  Women's Poker Hour host, Amy Zupko invited two industry icons to comment on the affects it has had on the players, on poker site, on the U.S. government, and on the industry as a whole.

dianna_copyDianna Donofrio-Trigatzi has been involved in the poker industry for many years, ten of them working with the World Series of Poker.  She has been a tournament director, project manager, WSOP satellite director, marketing director, public relations adviser, charity poker consultant and more.  She first started working in casinos more than three decades ago. Dr. Alan Schoonmaker has a unique combination of academic credentials, business experience, and poker expertise. After earning a Ph.D. in industrial psychology from The University of California at Berkeley, he joined the faculties at UCLA and Carnegie-Mellon University’s Graduate School of Industrial Administration. He then became a research fellow at The Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. alanHe personally taught or consulted in twenty-nine countries on all six continents for clients such as GE, GM, IBM, Mobil, Rank Xerox, Bankers Trust, Wells Fargo, Manufacturers Hanover, Chemical Bank, Chase Manhattan, Ryan Homes, Sun Life of Canada, AAA of Michigan, and more than two dozen others. His clients’ annual sales greatly exceed one trillion dollars.

Dr. Al has written or co-authored three research monographs and has published four books on industrial psychology (Anxiety and the Executive, Executive Career Strategy, Selling: The Psychological Approach, and Negotiate to Win), one book on coping with college (A Student’s Survival Manual), and four books on poker, The Psychology of Poker, Your Worst Poker Enemy, Your Best Poker Friend, and Poker Winners Are Different. His books have been translated into French, German, Dutch, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Japanese, and Indonesian.
